Default Painting bumpers and flares

Want to paint my new fender flares and my bumpers to match my truck, I want to do it myself so how did you guys do it or what do you suggest? I know they make spray cans where they match your color. Is that a good option?

Find some black ones and rattlecan them. Your not going to get paint to stick to chrome. Plastic dip?

I don't know if you get the chrome off the bumper I prob could paint it, I've also been thinking of going two tone black to match the flares but idk how that would look

Paint can stick to chrome. I do it all the time. As a professional painter I can not recommend rattle canning anything, lol.

Yes as long as you have an Electrostatic paint sprayer.

Lol. No. With the right prep, and the right products you can do it with auto paint, and it will last. The last 3 body shops I've worked at have pained chrome. I've done many chrome parts. I even do it on the side from time to time. I even made a how to thread in the paint and body section. https://www.f150forum.com/f116/how-paint-chrome-203305/

This is my current grille. It was a chrome lariat grille.

Please don't rattle can your chrome... Either plasti dip them as that will stick or have them professionally painted. You will regret very soon after rattle canning them as it will end up costing you more in the long run to get it fixed.

Prep is the key for the paint to stick well on the chrome.

If you love your truck, please don't ever spray paint anything that came factory, or to match factory paint. It will look like garbage up close, and in 6mos, you will be kicking yourself.
