And we all know Ford never has any problems with there paint (The Crown Vic blunder with the white paint recall 2000- 2007 just to name one, want pics of my 2006 whose VIN is 2 numbers outside the recall list) Just my .02 worth
Chips happen. No matter who paints it, no matter who makes it, no matter what substrate is painted over. A rock flying at paint will chip it, no matter how well it was prepped, no matter what paint was used, unless it's protected with a stone shield or an armor coat. Paint adheres to aluminum the same way it does steel. Aluminum has been used on vehicles for 75+ years.

I don't know exactly how far back this goes, but our truck's hoods have been been aluminum for a LONG time ... as well as the hoods of most other vehicles.

The issue with the all aluminum truck bodies is only in relation to body shops that now have to be ready (tooled up and educated) to work on them like they did the steel body panels.

Oh I know all about that. I was there for it all. In my area only Ford shops had to be retooled. Most others were already ready. Audi's, Land Rover, etc have been aluminum for years

1929 Rolls Royce all aluminum body in a steel frame.

The problem with the crown Victoria paint warranty was they applied color straight to e coat. Big no no. Uv rays penetrated and caused delamination. Money saving technique that backfired. I repaired an painted many of those, 10+ at least. My father in laws didn't start with chips. He never drove his, he's an old guy. He traded it with less than 20k miles, it was an 08. It wasn't white either. Would've happened chipped or not.

True but who is to say they did not try it again... another one of there bean counters better ideas... just a thought. Not saying they did, But it is a new truck, make sure the dealer documents the issue just in case. If I had I might have been able to get mine included in the recall. Just saying.

If it was low where rocks will hit, and is chip prone, some makers spray a chip resistant coating. I think the op was just asking a simple question.....

You may be right, but think about it from our end of things ...

We have no clue where the chips are on the panel ...

We have no idea how big/bad the chips are, or what they look like (ie: paint bubble chips, rock chips, etc.) ...

so on and so forth. If you read between the lines, all of us seem to be saying that we need more info before any of us can even start to help ... and even then, best bet with a new truck is to have the dealer check it out and see if it's a defect, or normal "wear and tear" ...

I know what you're saying, but I haven't seen any similar issue with the 2015 trucks yet. I painted a crown Victoria paint warranty as recent as last November, not even a year ago. It was an 08. They extended the warranty out a few years on those. My manager walked out liked at it for a second, turned it in to Ford. Boom approved in 10 minutes. The dealer I worked for approved everything though.

Which is why I always say the warranty really lies on the dealer. When people get denied on here, I laugh, not because it's funny haha, but funny stupid. Same issues I read about on here, were approved instantly at the dealer I was at.
