Paint Chips on 2015 F-150 Aluminum Body
I just purchased a 2015 F-150 XLT Supercrew and am very happy with it. However I went to wash the truck after 2 wks (~ 800 mi) and I noticed 3 small paint chips on my rear drivers quarter panel. Wondering is this due to the paint integrity on the new aluminum body ?? Has anyone else seen this on their aluminum body truck.

call me crazy, but it COULD be ... I mean, it just MIGHT be from rocks/debris that have been kicked up from the road and hit the quarter panel ...

Holy crap its a truck...........they get paint chips just like every other vehicle. Metal, aluminum, plastic, anything painted will get chips, scratches etc. Did your last vehicles paint not have any chips, scratches, flaws etc? You 2015 guys have some serious **** retentive OCD issues I swear.

I've heard about this video on line that shows how the aluminum body panels dent when you hit them with a sledge hammer.
You know, just like how steel body panels dent - when you hit them with a sledge hammer.

And the OP did not state they were down low where you would expect rock chips, What if they are higher like just below the top of the bed and the OP has done no hauling yet? Maybe a bad spot in the paint maybe not without more info on the OPs problem we cannot assume anything. And we all know Ford never has any problems with there paint (The Crown Vic blunder with the white paint recall 2000- 2007 just to name one, want pics of my 2006 whose VIN is 2 numbers outside the recall list) Just my .02 worth
