Default Cam phaser acuater solrnoid? Sp

Have a 2007 f150 with 80,000 miles on it. Started running rough yesterday put it on a scanner and said cam sensor out, changed it. Still running rough know it is showing cam sensor phaser acuater solenoid needs replaced where is this and how bad is to change. Any help please. It has the 5.4 engine.

Think it's under the valve cover.. Haven't researched yet.. Just wanna tell ya welcome to the club.. My 07 king ranch started that diesel sounding **** about 2 weeks ago.. I have 63,000 miles and no warranty.. I'm gonna drive mine until it worsens a bit more and by that time I would have gathered my pennies..

mine started a few months ago as well with 57K miles.. gotta find more pennies to get it fixed..

Damn, I pretty much bought mine with the ol diesel tick, on the plus side I got a 3 year stealership powertrain warranty that covers gaskets and seals as well.

Got it fixed today found a wire that has rubbed the power steering bracket and wore the insulation off. Took to a local guy and he found it he showed me and I could not see it. It runs great again and the engine light is off.

So your issue was just a wire?? So I need to start searching wires...

Yes it rubbed it's self bare under the power steering bracket.
