Default noise when halling

When i was hauling some flooring for a friend. Noticed a Rubbing noise that sounded like rubber and metal. NOT metal on metal. However when i have nothing in the bed of the truck there is no noise. Sometimes when i hit a bump i can hear it. I am leaning towards shocks but not sure. Had to replace the drive shaft recently, but did swap out with a scrap yard one. Is that the shocks or something else? Thanks ahead of time for the help!!

Check for any sign of the tires rubbing on the splash guards. How do the shocks look? Do they squeak at all?

Idk if there's a "best" way. I'd have a fat friend get in the bed and bounce it while I watched them. And I'd just feel for overall ride quality / listen for squeaks. And check your parking brake cable to see if it might be getting affected somehow with the bounce. If it was me I'd take the brake shoes off completely and go for a drive.

Point of clarification - he means the brake shoes for the parking brake only. Please do not remove all brake shoes from all four wheels and take it for a drive.
