New vs Used?

New vs Used?
I am looking to get my first F150 sometime before the end of the year and I am debating if I should buy a 2011-12 SCREW or a brand new 2014-15 SCREW. I was looking for a used F150 with 40k on it but the incentives make a new almost worth trying to stretch my dollars. Any thoughts?

I looked at all sorts of trucks new & used before I bought new
I juts figured I was going to have it for a long time
So better to buy new & know how it was treated from the get go
Ford Employee pricing back in 2005, with my trade, incentives etc I got a good deal
That was 9 years ago & I expect to have the truck another 9 years

I bought a new '12 towards the end of 2012. The '13's were landing so you could get 13K+ off the 12's right off the bat. I went new because I intend to have this truck for a while. I've had it for two years, and will probably have it for another four years at least.
It's also nice to know what all has been done to the truck. You never know what a previous owner did to a vehicle, or how they drove it, or what things they had to have fixed.
Having said that, this is my first new vehicle and I only bought used in the past. I never had any issues with any of the used trucks.

I buy used. My current '02 had 47,000 miles when I bought it December 2008. I've already had it longer and put more miles than the man who bought it new. It's SuperCrew Lariat, 5.4, 3.55 locking rear. It looks awesome. I research for issues, e.g., 2 piece plugs on later years, etc., and try to avoid those years. When ye buy new, ye never know what new issues you'll get into.

9 years I've had 2 flats, caliper problem so replaced & front brakes
Only on my 2nd set of tires, low miles for me
Other then that oil changes, reg maint
This is the 1st vehicle I've expected to keep 10+ years
Best to hear from people that drive more miles then me
I buy well into the model year, or find a leftover from prior year
My last SUV I bought a '99 in 2000, they made me a deal

I'm on my third new F150 and have never had problems. I try to keep them for 10 or more years so a little extra to start new is worth it to me.
