Needing help deciding on a truck
Looking into buying a truck right one option is a 2010 Ford f-150 Triton V-8, 4.6L with 37,000 miles on it. and has quite a few aftermarket parts on it and a six inch lift on it
He is asking $24,500
-ENGINE- Triton V-8, 4.6L
-TRIM- STX 4X4
-TIRES- 285/65/R18 (33"X11"X18) approx BF Goodrich All Terrain
-WHEELS- 18X9 Matte Black XD Series
-TINTED WINDOWS - 5%
-RUSTPROOF UNDERCOATING
-Rhino line truck bed
-6" BDS Suspension Lift W/Fox Racing Shocks
-Smittybilt M1 Grille
-LED Head/Tail Lights
-SONY Touchscreen CD/DVD/Bluetooth Navigation
-Reverse Camera
Another is a more stock option with quite a few more miles but a bit more cheaper as well. It's a 2010 ford f-150 xlt with 99,000 miles on it. He is asking $16,900 for it.

I like the blue one for the lower price even though it has a lot more miles it. Like they say "it's highway miles". Being plain you can do your own upgrades and make it your own.
On the black one your also paying for the upgrades someone else did but if you like the upgrades and have the money go for it. Then you dont need to really anything to it.
I could be wrong but both prices seem pretty good for the year and mileages.

Both real nice. The blue one you could fix up to your own personal liking, but the much lower miles on the other would have me leaning in that direction. You can always change some of the mods to something else if you want. Both seem to be priced right.

You have cash outright to buy? Financing rate depending on mileage? Overall I would rather buy something that hasn't been touched other than routine maintenance. I trust and know what I have wrenched on before anything someone else has messed with. Shade tree mechanic or 4x4 shop. My 2 cents. If you can fit it in the schedule I would check out both trucks in person. Pictures don't show a whole lot. I have drove out of state to pick buy a truck and I will not do it again. Look over and under every inch of the truck looking for rust or stripped bolts, cracked paint, body or frame repairs. Buying a used truck is a risk for anyone. Best to know exactly what you are buying and how much you are willing to pay for it. If the buyer will not meet what you are willing to pay, walk away. Having a vehicle you regret buying is so much worse than walking away from a vehicle you wish you bought.
Last truck I bough was an 05. Clean CarFax report, didnt see any rust when I was checking it out. It was raining when I checked the truck out. I didn't notice any rust until a few weeks after I bought the truck. I was hand washing it and noticed after drying that the cab corners had some rust bubbles. Not long after that the truck was jacked from me at gun point and totaled. The shop I sent it to notified me that the truck had prior frame damage and repair that was not on the CarFax report. I bought a damn lemon and had no idea when I signed papers and drove the truck home. Take a creeper and a flashlight and inspect each truck you look at, you will not regret it. I missed this after working in a collision shop for 5 years..I was too excited about getting a nice truck.

noob :)
mods are nice if they were done properly with good components... if hacked in, they can cause irreparable damage!

I think that black one looks the best by far as of right now. That being said if you are able to of course tint out the blue truck and put some black rims on it then I may I go blue. All depends on if you want to do any work to her

Exactly what I was thinking @byte. I would suggest before you buy have the black one checked out by a good mechanic. Make sure the lift kit was installed correctly. You could be buying the guys problems along with the truck.
That being said, they're both nice looking trucks. Myself I think I would go with the blue one. But, I would have it inspected first also. Good luck on your decision.
Welcome to the forum.

Car Fax
I would not put too much faith in a CarFax report. After trading my 2006 Sierra towards my current 2013 5.0L LTX model. I looked up the CarFax on my trade-in just for the heck of it to see what was listed. They conveniently left out several larger repairs on the front end and a major 4WD issue while the truck was under warranty. You would have thought that all the truck ever had was routine maintenance. I have always bought new trucks so that was my 1st time seeing a CarFax. Good luck with whichever truck you buy here.
