need idler pulley bolt size?
The idler pulley on my 97 ford f150 4.6 liter v8 engine broke off and the bolt broke off with it. I bought a new idler pulley but it does not come with the shouldered bolt. Does anyone know what size this bolt is.

Have you tried asking at the store where you got the pulley?
They should be able to tell you the bolt size, I would think.

Got a local Ford dealer? Go there to parts..should have the info. Did you turn the bolt the wrong way trying to loosen it? It turns clockwise to loosen instead of counterclockwise..I found out the hard way on a 95 model 302 idler pulley. I didn't break the bolt off but I wrestled it for about an hour soaking it with WD till I figured it out. lol.
