Default My New Truck

Got my new truck today. 8 weeks from order to delivery.

2014 F150 XLT Scab 4x4, 302A package, 6.5 bed, 5.0 V8, 3.55 E-Lock, tailgate step, center console, Ingot Silver, Gray cloth. 7.2 miles when picked up. 80 miles now.

Traded in my 2001 F150 XLT Scab 4x4 Off Road, 6.5 bed, 5.4 V8, Oxford White, Gray 40/60 cloth. 178K miles. Bought new.

My impressions so far:

The 2001 …..

Was better built …..
Had nicer looking interior …..
Had more comfortable seat …..
Was just as quiet …..
Rode just as nice …..
Had better visibility …..
Had more power …..
Got better gas mileage …..

I sure hope the 2014 grows on me!

Lol! I personally would never trade up my 96, but that's just me. Can you post some pics though?

I would have kept the 2001 but it had a head gasket leaking oil and was starting to rust.

Your truck looks great, but I love everything about my 2014 truck and almost everything about the 2012 I had.

2001 was either v6 or the 260hp 5.4 with only 80 miles on your new truck you may have not stepped into the pwr band of the new 5.0 . It may surprise you & after some break in the mpg should go up. Plus the song that engine will sing when you hit a access ramp is pretty cool also.

I stomped it and it felt gutless compared to the 5.4, but it did sound cool.

thats odd to me ... I had an 08 fx4 screw with the 5.4 and while powerful it had nowhere near the response and zip of my 2014 fx4 screw with the 5.0

I don't know what your idea of gutless is, but my 5.0 has plenty of giddy-up. (BTW, my old ride was an 02 XLT reg. cab.) It will grow on you as others have said. All the shifting of the 6 sp. trans will take some getting used to also. The feel of everything is just different compared to something 10+ years old.
Congrats on the new truck! Enjoy.
