the real trick is getting the insurance company to replace with the soundscreen window when you get a replacement. I plan on being addement that they replace with OEM specifically since it is there for sound dampening and a feature of my trim level. I would expect my camera to be replaced if someone wrecked my tailgate, why should the window be any different.

I don't think it's trim specific, may not be on the contractor special XL but I am guessing.
My wife's base model 14 Escape S is bare bones except for sync and rear view camera and it has the sound screen.

So do you think that every windscreen XLT and up has the sound screen? How do you know if you have it?

Ya I don't have that. Maybe became standard across the line in '13? Or is soundscreen new for '13?

My truck is a month old tomorrow. 1100 miles. I have 18'' wheels and it rides pretty good and is pretty quiet. Glad I don't live in North Jersey anymore. I couldn't imagine this thing on the roads + finding parking!
Also, my XLT has that SoundScreen.

FordService... much appreciated. Thank you. Pardon my ignorance, but what do u mean by "PM" you my info?
WANTED... I guess I shouldn't be complaining then, as I'm sure these trucks are much more refined than the older gen ones
Thanks everyone. I'm dying to post pics... if only i could get my damm camera to work
Also, kinda relived that all that seems to be changing for the FX4 trim is the apperance package grille for 2014. I was worried they would change much more, but it looks not. If I am wrong, please let me know. So far, the HIDs being offered on XLT models and up, plus a new color or two, seem to be the biggest changes?? Should have started a new post, but wht the hey

My truck is a 2013 Tux Black FX4 S-Crew short wheelbase with 402A and Appearance with 3.73s and EB. I love the power, I love the looks, I love the alcantara, I love the black wheels, etc, etc.
Now, here's what I don't "love" so much: first off, this is my first ever truck. I always thought trucks would have a good ride. However, I notice the ride is fairly rough. I do live in the Edmonton, AB where the roads aren't the greatest, but they're definitely not the worst roads out there either. Does anyone else notice the harsh ride too? I'm guessing the 20s might have something to do with it? If so, the ride must be worse on a Limited with 22s? Also, having Acura, Lexus, and Audi as my previous cars, I'm used to some refinement. I have noticed some minor (hopefully "minor") little squeeks and rattles in this truck. I'm a very picky guy, so most of these sounds are probably not even noticeable to the average driver. Is it just down to craftsmanship/ford build quality? Are those little noises of imperfection normal?
All in all, I absolutely love this truck, especially in the trim I got. The lag is definitely not as bad as I thought. An F-series truck is the only truck I will ever drive. I think RAMs have brutal resale, I think GMCs are butt-ugly, and I don't know how a truck the price of a tundra crew-max platinum doesn't, to this day, have HIDs. I won't even comment on that pickup from Nissan, whatever it's called. Guys, this F150 is sick, and I'm lovin' the appearance package. I also have a soft spot for the FX4 non-appearance in oxford white. Sorry for going on and on, but I couldn't have thought of a better way to spend what I did.
Thanks for everyone's opinions and info. No one on here ever blamed me or said I was wrong for choosing one engine/color/rear end ratio/etc, etc over another. Everyone just gave me their own opinions. It's not like this on some of the other forums I've been on for other cars. This community is awsome, and glad to be a part of it. Thank you everyone. Continue enjoying your F-series!!
