Default Mustang Shumustang

This has ALWAYS been a thorn in my butt. Why does EVERY manufacturer put less power in their truck line up? Trucks are heavier, and are used to pull, haul, tow, plow, and move. Now DAMN IT. Get the power UP UP UP! If the 2006 6.0L Camaro has 400hp's 400 ftlbs, then why oh why does the 2006 6.0L Silverado have 330 horses??? Or how about the 2013+ Ford F150 have 360 Hp's 380 lb feet in the 5.0L Coyote V8 and the Mustang has 412/390??? ONLY RAM corrected this issue and it is a recent fix, cause for years this has been the way. RAM 1500 2014 5.7L 395 HP's 410 Ft Lbs. Dodge Challenger 5.7L HEMI, 375/410. Finally RAM out muscles the cars.

SHEESH FORD drop the 'Stang motor into the 2015 F150, don't change anything or up the power BUT NOT LESS, and leave it BE! FORD... get your head outta your ****, the 2015 Stang is documented at 435 HP's and 400 ft lbs, the new 2015 F150 should then respectively get 500 hp's and 485 Ft Lbs.. P.E.R.I.O.D. We are heavier in our trucks we should have more power for the loads and duties we do... this is bull spit, and I am rebelling. Trucks do ACTUAL WORK, we need more power than cars. My 3 cents and my dollar too... I ALWAYS hated that concept... ladies and gentlemen... your thoughts please! Thank you.

U mad, bro?

Peak HP is not the end of the story... although I'm no expert, the usable powerband / tq is more relevant than peak numbers, especially for a truck.

A "sports car" is typically ran at higher rpms than a truck for example...

(2013) FoMoCo sold ~77,000 Mustangs and ~763,000 F-series pick-ups.

Any guess WHY FoMoCo would be concerned about putting more power in the F-series and its impact on fleet MPG?

That AND (as others have mentioned) - powerband and vehicles' use/function.

If they give you 500 ****** under the hood you'd be asking for 600. Hell, I got 365 ****** in my EcoBoost and it gets the job done without effort. I would like a 1,000 ****** but I sure as hell wouldn't want the bill to feed them.

This.

It's not only horsepower value, it the torque and powerband that is of more import for trucks. You generally get more of these along with higher horsepower, but for trucks you often want the pull, and not the stank.

Yeah but the 6.2L is O.U.T. OUT! They are dumping that engine and it is no longer in production. They have some on the show room floors, but gone for 2015. My only point was we should be the top performance engines in trucks not cars... Ok ok... Sports cars i get it I guess... but hell... at least do a drop in for us and do not down tune it for us LOL..

Wrong. The 6.2 is in fact still in production, just not in the F150.
