This is great out in the middle of nowhere, late at night, no one to be seen, just kicked back with my own thoughts. Brings back some tear jerking memories. Fantastic lyrics. I could go on for ever with stuff I like while driving.

Back in the 1970's this song made the CB's and truckers pretty darn popular.I was driving a tanker truck back then and this song was played on both the pop and country stations. Night time they had a country show on WWL clear channel out of New Orleans with DJ Charlie Douglas. This show was called the Road Gang...this song still makes me want to drive!

OMG, Pawpaw!!! I very much remember that!! Once in awhile there'll be some of us heavyhaul travelling together, and that song comes to mindLOL.
Here's another of that genre. I thought this many times when I was OTR!!

And one of recent daze. Never was there, but think the same thing after weeks of ice and snow, white outs. What was your handle?

Funnelhead. '74-'78, skateboards. '06-'10, 18 wheeler dry van. '10- now, 42 wheeler heavyhaul. I got "funnelhead" from a southern lad, that was shocked at the winter conditions we work in. I was trying to help him through customs, and he comes out with, you guys are just a bunch of funnelheads, driving in this stuff, and then have to deal with customs. I thought it sounded a cool name, and made it stick. Really, I don't know what a "funnelhead" is.LOL

It's a nice switch up. Musically it's a little less intricate, but the nuances throughout the album are outstanding. And it's got a nice groove.
I just hate what Bob Rock did with Metallica. He essentially caused the downfall of the band through the 90's with the culmination being the craptastic album St. Anger.
I love the speed of the first four. And then Pantera's groove - metal feel and the throwback to sabbath style riffing on guitar is AWESOME!
