Default miss fire

my 2001 F-150 is miss firing. I got the code 1309 miss fire fault. Has anynoe found this code before and what can I do to fix it?

Take it to a shop and let a real shop diagnose the code for ya. If you went to AZ and had the code pulled it dosent help you get the diagnostic stratagy to fix it. You can get a manual on the truck and see if there is a diagnostic tree in there to help you fix it.

I had the same problem only it was intermittent, also a 2001 (5.4), Finally took it to the Ford dealer they found a bad Coil on Plug (COP). Problem solved.

Change the plugs, change the ignition wires. Coils are expensive, do that last. You might also need to replace the Crank Sensor.

A faulty Camshaft Position Sensor can cause this fault. Has any work been done on the truck lately? What, if any, mods do you have on the truck. Which engine is it? 4.2 V6 or one of the V8s?
