personally i think the full brush guards look better then desert guards even though they are more expensive.

One thing I've always wanted to do is paint an entire truck with grey or black Zolatone. The one with the grey and black splatters in it. It would hide dents, scratches, and dirt. Then get black rims. A whip antenna on each side, somehow hooked up to a Tesla coil so it would arc in between. . . .
That would be beyond mean. It would be Bad.

Before anyone puts me down for being "anti lift", keep in mind that Ive been lifting and off roading Jeeps for many years, but my Jeeps arent lifted for looks. I shake my head when I see vehicles that are lifted but obviously never see any dirt. I know the cost and I know the effects on drivability. It doesnt make sense to me to do that to a vehicle that doesnt see dirt. Just my .02 for what its worth.

If you're going for MPG, a lift, large tires and brushguard are counter productive. Dont lose track of the purpose of the truck because after the newness of driving a lifted truck wears off, you will be stuck with one that cost you a bundle of money and doesnt fit your needs, and to top that off, no one will give you anything for it when you decide to sell it. Honestly, if you are going for looks, thats fine, but keep in mind that it'll only look cool to those who are ignorant about trucks and off roading. People who know trucks and actually play with them off road will know its a poser.

i agree with that for the most part. my truck for example has a 3" lift and 295 75r16's. i can definately notice an improvement in the off road capabilities with the extra ground clearence and the bigger/wider tires. my lift cost me less than $200. i was considering a 4.5" or a 6" but for the $2000+ it would cost, i could build a nice xj and not have to worry about trail damage to my f150. on the same note, i passed an f150 today in town. it was on probably about a 10" lift with, what i would guess to be 37" tires and i have to admit, i think my truck, or even a stock f150 could wheel better than that because of the height and high center of gravity. a low branch or a lateral slant and that truck would have some real problems. also my .02, now you have .04
