I dont have a problem doing it, just not wanting the threads to come out.

Guess it is all about procedure.

Default Ignorance is Bliss:

I have a '94 Lincoln TC with a 4.6L. I changed the plugs at 135,000 miles and never gave a thought to any unusual problems. The plugs came out and went in without a hitch. I used the usual routine: Pull wires, blow out plug recesses with compressed air, remove plugs, place a dot of NevrSeez on the new plug threads, run the plugs in carefully to the seat and torque to finish the job.

Perhaps the difficult access to the plugs common to the F150 trucks enters into the problem.

I did pull #1 and #8 in my '97 F150 just to check their condition. They came out OK and went back in as well with no trouble. The plugs looked quite good.

I'm amazed at the number of horror stories I hear about plug problems in the Triton engines.
