Looking to Drop the Hammer on 11' F150 Platinum Have Question HELP
So, I have a pending deal (Suppose to pick up on Saturday and sign paperwork) on a 2011 F-150 Platinum Crew Cab with the 5.0 was wanting ECO but the debates run far and wide from my research and I'm not going to go down that road as there already is a ton of threads on multiple sites regarding it. SO ANYHOW, I have been looking at f-150's with a 100k on them to save some money. This is the most I have spent on a truck or any vehicle in a long time. So, I have approved financing and have a deal of 23,300 out the door on this truck with 108k on it. It is a clean truck has a few very minor blemishes with the major one being on the rear bumper there is a small dent (repairable) I haven't had a F-150 since my 05 5.4 truck. I really like the new trucks and this one is very nice and I love the color combo. Do you guys think this is a fair deal on this truck? FYI I am able to go to dealer auctions with a friend of mine and last week a 2012 F-150 Crew XLT with 100k and a large dent in the bed sold for almost 15k. That seemed like a lot. So maybe they aren't making a ton on it but who knows. Maybe I'm just getting cold feet. Could any of you other's maybe offer me your two sense. By the way, payment was quoted with no money down as 4.84% for 60mos 442.00. Thanks in advance for the advice.

Used seem to be holding their values. May change when the 2015s come out. I keep getting offers for mine as a trade in. I have a base 2011 Fx2 SCREW and they are offering me about $22k. I paid $28k new.

I'd check at a local credit union, you should be able to get a better interest rate than that assuming you have decent credit. My local CU is at 2.25 for 60 months I think.

I have been doing quite a bit of searching in my area, and generally speaking a FX2 or above model has been holding around 27k-29k for a 2011 and newer but less miles.

They are holding value pretty good and Thats a going rate for that truck in 4x4 around here. Is that one 4x4? there is a dealer here wanting $23k for an 09 4x4 platinum with 130k miles. Its been there awhile and at that price probably will be. Heck another dealer wants $22k for an 09 4x4 lariat with 127k miles. I just cant justify paying that kind of money for a truck with over 100k. At least not financing the whole amount for that long. I want mine to be paid off well before it hits 100k Unless you are dying to get one now you may want to wait until the 15's show up. My dealer is anticipating a ton of trades to come in. You might get a better deal.

Yes this is a 4x4 and I appreciate you all chiming in with your opinion. I have seen one of these trucks with 260k on it so I know they will last. I'm more concerned if you think I'm getting a fair deal?

I'd use KBB to determine what Trade In value is. The last 3 vehicles I've traded have been right in line with KBB numbers. I'd probably be willing to pay somewhere between trade in value and Private party value.
The market for buyers looking for a 100,000 mile truck can't be that big. I'm sure they've already made their money off the new truck he traded this one for, so they will be willing to part with this one making just a little dough.
I know a guy who got $39,000 trade in for his 2012 20k mile Platinum and the dealer has it listed online for $40,000

Paying a 60 month loan on a truck with more than 100K miles is a bit long unless you drive less than 10K a year.
I'd suggest looking for a lower mileage truck.
