I bought a locked Edge for $100.00. The folks at Edge unlocked it for me for free.

I went with a Volant for my 08 5.4. Gas mileage improved a little on the highway other than that it makes a great sound when you get down on it.

Pretty much sums up my opinion of the CAI scam(at least the last 3 minutes, I'm not going to lie, I didn't watch the whole thing)

For sure, there are a lot of thoughts and data about the benefits of CAIs.

On my 2014 5.0, I installed an Airaid CAI. However, I did so in conjunction with installing a Borla ATAK exhaust and installing 5-Star's 91 octane performance tune.

I selected Airaid because I have used their products in the past.

By only installing a CAI, I doubt you would be able to tell much difference in power. Our trucks are really heavy and we want power in the low to mid-range RPMs. If you do gain some horsepower, I doubt you could feel it, but you might, perhaps depending on how you drive your truck.

I do believe that a CAI is a good starting point for future basic upgrades such as an exhaust and a custom tune.

Just my 2-cents on the subject.

I think it does dress up the engine compartment.

Good luck with your selection.

I also have a Borla exhaust, and SCTX4 tuner with 5* tunes. I plan on getting together with 5*, and see if they can "maybe" get a little out of it.
Photo is before I got the sock installed.
If you bought the CAI and installed it after we tuned it and did not update the tune you want to. The truck will run lean and you could possibly lose power. Let us know so we can update it if we need to. It is $85 dollars to update email tunes unless you buy the parts from us then it is free.

Thank you 5star!! I'm pretty sure all parts came from Stage3, so I should be good to go. Even if I have to pay the $85, I think it would be worth it to me.
Would you guys happen to have Saturday hours?

Just checked, yes, my CAI, and Borla both came from Stage3.
