Default Lookin For Cold Air Intake

I'm looking to purchase a cold air intake. For those of you here that have purchased one, give me your opinion of what you purchased. Do you like it, did you notice any power gains, what ever you would like to add. Also if you have an opinion of a certain brand and what you think is one of the best on the market.

Power gains are not noticeable. Only time there is really any power gain is with a tuner, and even then the gains from the CAI are minimal.

I have a K&N, sounds awesome looks awesome. That's about all it does for me!

Have an Airaid on my 5.0. Can't tell any gain in anything but looks and sound. Was it worth the bucks? To me it was.
I also have a Borla exhaust, and SCTX4 tuner with 5* tunes. I plan on getting together with 5*, and see if they can "maybe" get a little out of it.
Photo is before I got the sock installed.

Save your money, all a CAI does is add sound. On my 04, I had the gotts mod and an AEM dryflow filter. Problem is when it snowed it would go into limp mode, which after research is a common problem, small ice crystals would get past the filter to the MAF. After the third time of it happening in under a week, I took out the AEM and put in a WIX and problem solved. Just something to think about if you are in a cold climate.

The one I was thinking about is a K&N, Amazon has it for $272. I do live where it gets cold, upstate NY. You didn't notice ANY gain in power or maybe gas mileage?

I've got the same gen 5.0 and same K&N system you are pointing to. No real gains, like I said partner it with a tune and then you might get something but its really nothing but sound and looks.

I have never seen any real world RWHP gains. Save money for other parts. However, a drop in free flow air filter is good bang for the $$.

I am getting the same mpg's with my wix filter and OEM intake tube as I did the AEM dryflow and gotts mod. Difference is it is much quieter now (I have true dual exhaust and yes, it is a big difference in sound).

2011^ come with CAI from the factory, all the aftermarket ones do is add noise, complete waste of money if your wanting added performance.

Get a programmer and custom tune if you want performance gains.
