Default Last Year of Manual Transmission?

I've noticed you can't get the new f-150 in the manual transmission...what is the last year the offered it?
I just want something with a manual transmission and 4x4. Is that so much to ask?

I don't think there are Manual versions of the 04-08 (4x4, there's V6 manuals.) or 2009 versions.

Only Manual I found was this one, which was a V6. (Also a pretty badass little truck..)

nice.
i base my assumption that they discontinued the 5-speed manual is that when i tried to build my dream truck on the ford website, they would only let me choose automatic.

08 was the last year that a manual transmission was available in a F-150, and even then it was only available with a V6, mostly XL and maybe some STX models as I understand it. I love my 08 4.2 V6 w/ 5-speed, as I'm not a fan of automatics, and never have been.

Now, I'm pretty sure that you couldn't get a 4x4 with a V6 and 5-speed in the later years of the 04-08 model; however, a local material supplier I used to work with had an 04 or 05 STX supercab, it had a manual transmission, and I'm almost certain it was a 4x4 with a manual transfer case. I could be wrong, as it's been a few years since I saw the inside of that truck, but I remember looking in it, seeing dual sticks, and marveling at the fact that you could still get a 100% manual 4x4 F-150 (which is what I would want for a 4x4, no automatic T-case or transmission).

2008 was the last year of the manual transmission for the F-150. Only available in the 4.2L V6. Last year of the F-150 5 manual transmission behind a V8 was 1997. Once Ford went to the 4.6 and 5.4 they stopped putting the Mazda M5OD-RII transmissions behind them because they just couldn't handle the added power the 4.6 and 5.4s put out compared to the stock 5.0. The 4.2L is within 5hp and somewhere in that ball park of ft-lb torque of the stock 5.0. Not to mention that the bolt pattern changed radically.
As for the F-250 I am not sure when the manual transmission was no longer offered in it. I THINK it was dropped when the 6.0 was introduced and the ZF-S5 large block did not fit it.
On a side note there were a few (and I mean rare as hen's teeth few) ZF-S5 transmissions in the F-150. mostly because most of them were made for that huge 7.3L and big block V8 bolt pattern. There were very few of the ZF-S5's made for the small block pattern and even less put in the F-150 stock. Most were F-250 when you can find those. They are the same heavy duty ones that go behind those monster 7.3L but with a housing for the smaller block.
I have a 2007 F-150 4.2L 5 speed and love it. Oh and for a bit of trivia 2003 was the Last year that the F-150 had a manual transmission with 4wd. I THINK it is because of the gas tank, and exhaust routing that the 4wd was not possible in the newer 2004 body style. It MAY have been the engine oil pan that did not allow for the front diff in the 2004 but I doubt that was the problem. I say all of this because it is the ONE thing on my wish list I could have found and don't think I can build for my F-150 but I absolutely REFUSE to downgrade to an Autotragic Trashmission. So you asked the time and there is how the atomic clock is built. You're welcome.
