Hey guys, just introducing myself here, I'm mike and I've got a chevy. First of all let me explain I'm not here for flaming or dissing I'm just damn curious. An f150 4X4 pulled on my today at 120-125 mph while we were neck and neck. He edged me out by a full car length by what I'm guessing is 130 mph.
Now let me explain, no hatin please. I've got a full size 4.3 silverado (yes a v6) that's not stock whatsoever. I've stepped past hemis and srt8's without a problem on the freeway. Also 5.3 silverados and vortec max's aren't a problem for the little mod-ed 5 spd. My neighbor's turbo f250 with copmuter chip couldn't keep up. The only thing that's beat me like that was a GTP and it didn't even pull that hard. Not braggin, just letting you know how the competition stacked up and this was no stock f150
Anyway, whoever has a green f150 4x4 with an 'amsoil' sticker on the back window drivin on 59 north in houston today deserves some major props. Keep it up guys
I'm very curious to what was done to his truck.

Aye. Limiter easy to get rid of. Nowadays, it's just a setting you can adjust with a programmer and if this truck was as quick as OP stated, Id be almost positive he was running one, most likely SCT or Predator....
And welcome Mike, thank you for posting in a considerate and thoughtful manner! It's a rare thing to see cross Chevy / Ford products. I do not believe the truck you were referring to is active on this board. If there was a highly modded truck and he ever talked about it, I'm almost 100% I would know. lol
Then again, could be a lurker!

Well just curious what SRT8 he is referring to. If it was a Charger, I would have trouble believing it. If he is referring to a Grand Cherokee, maybe.
I'd run ya... I am a Texanite.

The cherokee srt8 would blow his doors off too. THey arnt that much slower than a charger. I know a guy in town that has a srt8 charger and cherokee. They are really close.

Stoplight racing is another matter all together though. I would venture to guess that you could see a GC-SRT8 eat a C-SRT8 simply due to the fact that the AWD is a huge advantage. The fact that the GC has one less gear could hurt it too though.
Either way, without some proof, I have severe doubts that a 6cyl Chevy is running with SRT's and the likes. I dont care how much you have in them, the fact remains that the horsepower is just not there and most base 6cyl's are not a stable platform for wich to add power to from the beginning.
