I remember now what i did. I took the stuffing out of a hideous throw pillow and used that in the sub housing. 2 problems solved.

Took out the sub woofer and put Polk Audio spkrs in the doors. Sounds better.
The Sub is useless, and the extra space is great. My Lab can get in and out easier too.

There's a thread out there somewhere that explains better what I'm going to say, but I can't find it. But, per the instructions I took my sub out, pulled it apart, and stole one on the Wifey's old pillows. Take the polli-fill from the pillow, stuff the corners of the plastic box snugly, but not tight. Continue to fill the box, leaving a small open area around the speaker, re-assemble, and adjust the bass. For zero dollars you will get a much deeper sound from the sub. Now, it ain't nothing like a $2000 after market unit, but it does sound a ton better.

Great truck. I've done (what seems like) a ton of mods, and I'm always on the lookout for something else. Within reason. I'm not messing with the suspension, for example.

I found the polyfill sub mod worked quite well. Suggest swapping out the stock speakers too with whatever you like - I did fronts with Alpine components (since there's a tweeter too) and Alpine coaxials in the rear. The stock amplifier is more than adequate to handle them - no additional amp needed.

I've got the 5.0 too and love it, although at some point I will get a tuner. I dislike the point in 2-3rd gear when the torque converter kicks in - just slows the whole thing down and sounds just weird. Other than that (front to rear):

paint protection film; LED foglights; Rigid D2s on each side of the center license plate (dash switched); white-amber-white switchback LED turn signals; Raptor grille lights; radiator screen mod; weathertech mud flaps all around; side mirror LED turn signal mod; front and windshield tint to match stock; water-sealed satellite radio antenna (and third brake light); stick-on window wind deflectors; wheelskin steering wheel wrap - black leather; weathertech digital fit floor mats; stereo speaker replacement (mentioned already above); stock tires replaced day 1 w/Michelin LTX M/S2 P-rated; steelie dash phone mount; CR Laurence static cling window film for rear side windows (best option to keep the heat and glare out and protect your kid too from flying pull-down glare types); all interior lights save vanity mirror replaced w/LEDS; PTM Peragon tonneau; LED bed light mod (both rails); Dee-Zee tailgate assist; LED rear tail light replacements w/resistors; LED license plate lights; Gibson 10" 3i 4o exhaust tip; pair of Rigid Dually reverse lights under the truck (dash switched); oh, and Moody Blue inlays (Ruby Red) for the "F-150s" all over the truck & overlays for the front grille (Black w/Ruby Red "Ford" and border) and rear tailgate (Ruby Red w/Black "Ford" and border).
