Just picked up a brand new 2014 loaded FX4 w/ 5.0l V8
Hey guys,
I recently picked up a Ford F150 2014's FX4.
This truck is awesome. Drives great and lots of power. I got the 5l V8.
First of all what are the things I need do to this brand new truck, any tweaks or adjustments? that would improve or make things better?
I had a lot of questions but I can't remember them right now, but I do have three that I remember which is why I decided to finally sign up.
I was going through the 4.2" productivity screen in the instrument cluster and there doesn't seem to be that much in there.
I went into the gauge mode and There's only Tranny temp and that's it.
I thought in gauge mode, there would be a selection of gauges to choose from, like a digital speedometer, other temperatures.
Can I someone get those? I prefer to have a digital speedometer, That's what I had on my VW.
And there was another option for "Truck apps" I clicked it and saw there were only two things in this; the off road stuff and trailer stuff. Can I download/add more apps, or does it only have these two?
Finally, when adjusting the bass from the myford touch, is there another separate section for the 750W sony subwoofer alone? because I felt that increase the bass, I got a bit of gain in the deep sub from the woofer and a lot of gain in the mid-range from the speakers. I only want to increase low-range bass while keep the speakers from not producing any bass.
Thanks guys.
I am still taking it all in, I am still going through the books and manuals to see what this truck can do.

Google "engineering mode" for the productivity screen. The screen is used across multiple platforms, so the function does different things for other vehicles. There arent any downloadable programs, the screen does the things that it is set to do.
The multiple computer "thingies" are not controlled by a central computer, like, the engine computer. they operate and communicate via numerous smaller dedicated systems commonly known as CAN-BUS. The systems are low power/limited processing units that communicate problems back to the engine computer for diagnostic functions.

I will post the picture tonight, might be a bit late. But I'll put one up. It's sterling grey color.
Thanks for that. I searched google found that holding "ok" an starting the truck takes it into engineering mode, where you can do different tests and get different reading.
I hope ford puts a lot more stuff into the productivity screen for the 2015 model.
I thought I was just missing something and that I could select and add what kind of parameter I want displayed in the gauge section. O well.

I've had my loaded up 2014 FX4 5.0L V8 for about 5 months now and absolutely love it ... some of the ecoboost enthusiasts will tell us we're silly for not getting that engine, but I just love a good V8, and this truck is impressing me every day. I have a feeling you're going to love yours too.
