Nitro Fill

Nitro Fill
When I test drove my 14 around the dealership parking lot, the saleswoman said all there vehicles are converted to nitrogen in all tires. I really did not test ride. A S I was stepping up from a 12 XLT to a 14 XLT with same motor. Anybody else have nitro fill? Good or bad? They say better gas mileage and tires will hold better.

78% of the atmosphere is Nitrogen. Ergo, when your tires are filled with air they contain 78% Nitrogen.
If it makes you feel good and/or helps you sleep at night, GO FOR IT!

There is no downside to nitrogen in tires, except the cost, if you have to pay for it.
I have it in 20 auto/trailer tires, and I can say, without a doubt, that you will not have to add to your tires as often with nitro.
Yes, air is 78% nitro, but the other 22% has a smaller molecule, and leaks through the rubber faster than nitro.
Google it and see. For instance:

N2 is a gimmick if you ask me.
Yes the air we breath is 78% N2. When "converting" to N2 it raises the %. Why would you want this? N2 doesn't expanded and contract with temperature and as it's been said it leaks through less!
BUT in order to get 100% N2 in your tires they would need to be filled in a state of vacuum which isn't done.
For the cost it's not worth it, if it's free sure why not. But if you do need to add to your tires you either need to find a place that has N2 or just fill with regular air which makes the money you spent on it a waste.
My tires have 20K miles in them and I have never needed to add a ounce if air to them...

The only benefit to using nitrogen is it is highly compressed and all the moisture is removed. I used to put it in my tires years ago as it was free for me. It ain't worth the bother or paying for. I know back in the good old days before A/C techs had to recovery refrigerant, I used to put freon in the tractor tires. Man, that tractor felt good riding on R-22. R-12 just didn't give the same ride quality. Looking back, the price of R-22 today is high. I would love to have all that R-22 back.

I have air in my 04 F150, only time I ever filled up was when I bought it from PO and the tires were fairly under inflated. Went through a super cold winter and now its summer and still have the same PSI I originally filled them at.
