It really is too bad that people are mad at their FORD's, or should I say their FORD dealers but before you go running off to Chev you may want to hear this;
I have owned 4 Chev trucks. 2 blew their engines before 160,000 miles and the other 2 two required complete suspension re-builds before 180,000 miles. Each and every one of them blew alternators, starters and batteries so fast that I could hardly keep up with replacing them. I never had a break job last any more than 30,000 miles and only 1 of those 4 trucks left my property with its paint still on. The best part of it all is that the local chev dealer was charged with fraud after he was caught scamming retired folks out of $1200 for non-existent insurance policies.
Still wanna buy a chev?

No All Brands don't suck. Just some people. I figure if someone hates their truck...they should change. As we all know. Some folks you can not please. At all. Ever.

Wrench light on resets when engine shut off.
Three to four times went into limp mode check engine and wrench warning would not lock on. Then on 1/7/16 after three times wrench and limp mode reset it stayed on .6 miles from muzi ford. Drove in and it was diagnosed with a bad turbo wire harness. Running great now last wire on connector was not crimped properly.

The grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence or with another brand of truck. I'll give you my thought after doing warranty claims for all three brands.
After doing warranty service for GM for a number of years, I learned that I would NEVER buy a GM. GM, to cure a noise in a engine, rather than doing it right, under warranty, would cut corners and have the dealerships replace pistons, with 1 or 2 or even 3 oversized pistons, to take the noise out of their engines. No fixing it correctly. They would do the cheap fix, no matter what. Would you like an 009 piston in one cylinder, and 7 others with 001, or 002, or up to 004 sized pistons to take away their awful engine cylinder slap. THIS IS NOT HOW TO DO A REPAIR, but it is GM's way of doing things. I'll pass on GM and their warranty.
As far as going to Chrysler/Dodge. I'll definitely pass. My local dealers (2) and one 40 miles away, have over 200 cars and trucks (total of the three according to the warranty guys I know), sitting waiting for authorization to repair. These are mostly engine or transmission related items, but they are not being fixed. I know of one who is still there after 11 months of fighting with Dodge. His Hemi lost #3 valve, which went thru the intake and took out the opposite bank. This means replacing the motor. The truck has 42000 miles with the lifetime warranty they came up with. He stated the other day, it was a good thing it was a lifetime one, because that was what it is taking to get any kind of results from Dodge.
I did Ford warranties for a year or so, and other than the occassionaly po'd person, it wasn't nearly as bad as when I worked for GM or Dodge. When it came to gettting something finally done, I found that Ford at least tried. Dodge, told the people to go get bent. You have to judge for yourself what is best. Check the Dodge and GM forums. You will clearly see what I'm saying. For my money, I'll stick with Ford.

Just a tip for all who have ever had the fall on face when passing and no code set when bringing it in. Unless its a repeating issue, the code will go away after a couple key cycles. Get a scan gauge, hook it up so that you can easily see it, and when this happens and you get a flashing CEL, go to the codes page on the gauge and take a picture of the code. It will usually be a P030x, with the x being the cylinder that misfired. That way when you bring it in, you can show them the code that got triggered.
Whether or not it helps, at least they can't throw that no code no problem crap at you.
Also you dont have to shut down the truck when this happens, just floor it and it will eventually clear and start running normal again once all the sensors return to normal settings.
What happens is the gunk that gets ingested by one or two cylinders puts out the spark in those cylinders, but the injectors still pump fuel into them, which then gets pushed into the exhaust causing an over rich condition to both O2 sensors on that bank, which in turn leans out the fuel across the board, causing the loss of power. Once the O2 sensors see normal readings, fuel is adjusted back to the normal amounts, restoring power. This can take 30 seconds or more making it feel like its stalling out, and if you take your foot off the gas, chances are it will stall out, so keeping your foot in it will keep it running, though very rough and under powered. This is what happened with mine.

What should you do if you are in a position where you cannot let her rip? ie. traffic stopped ahead of you? thanks
