Here is just a close up shot of the I.V. line in my right arm. It travels up through the main vein that runs down the center of your biceps and up into your shoulders thru the right side of your chest and stop just short of my heart where the medication is delivered directly into my bloodstream at that point.

Here is just a similar pic just taken from a different angle. Now you all see why I had to get them 22" wheels to match my 22" Gunz! LOL, just kidding

Default One Last Pic B4 I Bore You All To Death

Here in this pic you can actually see me holding the syringe full of saline which is the first injection of 3 that I must give each time I give myself my medication. The saline (NaCl) just simply cleans/clears the line and prepares it for the antibiotic medication (Ancef) that is to follow.

I went in for total reconstructive knee surgery (torn ACL, MCL & shredded miniscus playing football) and only 9 days after my surgery they removed the staples from my knee and I was walking without the assistance of crutches. 3 months after my surgery the doctor gave me the green light to resume playing sports once again. The normal recovery timeline for a surgery such as mine is 6 months before you can do any side to side cutting and 12 months before resuming any full contact, that's why NFL players who have the same surgery are usually out for more than a full season. He said he had never seen anyone heal from a surgery such as mine so fast. His actual words to me were "you are a medical miracle" I was so glad that my wife was present to hear him say those words because she would have never believed me.
That is a truly wonderful & beautiful story to read WXMCPO; despite all the hardship and trauma that I KNOW that you went thru, it always seems to make you a better person in the end. You kinda wish it had never happened to you in the first place, but then you think back & wonder (atleast I do) how it has changed my character in a positive way and made me a better man & a more loving and compasionate person to those around me, and made me realize that life is more than me and my petty little problems. Cuz no matter what Hell you or me or anybody is going thru at any one moment, there is always someone else out there who is dealing with a tougher situation. I try to thank God for His grace & humility everyday.

Tide,
The anathesia most def takes away one's sex drive (especially going under 3 times in 3 weeks) & ur ability to, uh, shall we say, come to attention, is incredibly diminshed so I'll prob be spending much less "personal alone time" until everything kicks back into gear.

So with that being said, then yeah I'll admit that your hands and forarms will probably get stronger than mine until my body returns to normal and I can get back to my normal "regimen"! HAHAHA, LOL. But of course, if you have a girl, then maybe this isn't even an issue for you!

Man, see! No inhibition...i'll just say anything on these medications! I am truly sorry mods. Please forgive me!!

Default Tide's Shoulder Surgery ??? Answered

Ahhh yeah, good catch there Tide w/the scar on my right shoulder. Can you guess what it was???...Muthasuckin Staph infection from some knucklehead not cleaning off the equipment at the gym. Not to sound like a Public Service Announcement, but PA-LEASE...if you work out, spray down the machine when ur down.

And medically speaking, pretty much once you have had a staph infection one time (the shoulder situation was actually my first bout) even though you can take the antibiotics to "kill" it, the staph cells are typically still always there hiding/dormant in remission & can resurface during times of surgical procedures...hence my continual downward spiral w/this oh so lovely kill-joy.
