Morning skidoo-guy,
you were driving in Duff's Ditch? I didn't think that let folks do that... Then again, if you don't ask permission, then what the hell...
For those of you that don't know, this floodway is designed to hold more water than what goes over Niagra Falls every second. There is a gate that lifts up, from UNDER The Red River. This makes it flood to the south of Winnipeg. You should see the houses that are built south of the city. They are built on earth berms that are some 20 to 25 feet high.
One nice thing about the permitter highway, if ever you drive off the highway, you can always drive back on. No ditches to speak of. Only a suggested depression in the land that follows the highway. But if you get too far off the highway and are stuck in the snow, you would want someone like skidoo-guy to help you get back on.
So, skidoo-guy, with a handle like skidoo-guy, you must own a ski-doo. Do you know Dave Palanycia? Dave owns the purple monster. He claims that he has the fastest ski-doo in Winnipeg and the surounding areas.
