How much should I be paying for a '14 Lariat or FX4?

There are load of Ford dealers in the Houston area. I would recommend you contact a few of the dealerships in some of the small towns around Houston where some of the better deals can be had. at least do a price comparison before making a final decision. Prices can vary significantly from location to location. This time of year it will depend a lot on availability of left over 2014 models. Most dealers can search other dealers inventory. That's how I bought my 2014 Limited.

Seeing as how the 15's are out. I live in Houston and I'm looking for my second Ford. I'm pretty flexible but I'm looking hard at some of the new 2014 Lariats with 4WD here. A few of them I've been looking at, either with the 501A mid package or the 502 luxury (Sony, Nav, etc), or even some of the luxury FX4s.
Here's the thing. They're mostly 10k off MSRP. For example, a 2014 FX4 with the 402A luxury package and ecoboost, MSRP of 50,750 and they're advertising it at $42,150. What is this truck really worth? I was thinking more like mid 30s, being that it is last model years and a generation old. About a month ago I saw a few dealers advertising '14s at 40% off MSRP. That would put this truck at $30k. I know it's not a base model, but is asking $35k out of line?
FWIW I am a professional salesman so I get the whole "they need to make money too" argument.

If you want a 14, I'd act soon. There's not many of them left to my knowledge.

I just went through the pain of finding a great deal on a '14 FX4. Bottom line, expect to pay over $40k for one, even this far into 2015. I ended up snagging a used '13 with 15,xxx miles on it from a private seller. Had a ton of add-ons and the previous owner transferred over the extended warranty as well.
