How many miles is to many ?
When buying used how many miles is too many ? I'm looking at 2011 and up.
I see almost $10000 differences in the same truck models but the Milage is 50 thousand kilometres difference. I'd rather spend 5 thousand on maintenance sooner than spend an extra 10 and still have to do maintenance down a couple years later?

miles
It sure depends on how well it was maintained. I've a '97, 4.6, scab with 235,000 on it an I wouldn't hesitate to get in it now and drive to New York (well, maybe somewhere else) and back.
But I'm a nut about maintenance and I've spent some money keeping it up.
Good luck.

It really depends on a ton of different factors. Mileage is only a small part of it unfortunately. If a person was meticulous about the maintenance and kept records on each and every service done to the car, I'd be willing to pay more than a car with lower miles but no maintenance or records of it.

2011 and up....I suppose your going to be in the ballpark of mid 20K and up depending on trim level and options. I'd say a lot of it depends on how much and for how long your going to finance the used truck.

Yes, maintenance is a big factor! I now people that can level a truck in less than 50K miles, while others have 2 or 3 hundred K and the vehicle is still like new!
If you feel the miles are excessive, figure out if they're highway miles, city miles or in the case of a truck, off road....
Highway miles are not all that bad for a car. Unless it has cruise control, you will see wear on the gas, but not the break pedal. But, a lot of miles with cruise, the wear on both pedals will be minimal.
City miles are hard on a vehicle. Lots of stopping, and going, and shifting, RPM constantly going up and down, wears on a vehicle. Look for a lot of wear on the break pedal, and the gas pedal to to a point.
Off road miles are bad to. Chipped paint around the wheel wells, scratches and dings up underneath. If they didn't bottom blast it, mud caked up in suspension parts, and frame pockets. Beat up bumpers are another warning sign.

Depends on how long you plan on keeping the truck. The most I've been able to squeeze out of a truck was 236,000 miles over 15 years.
I've owned a couple other vehicles with over 125K but transmission issues popped up.
