Try dealing with their Internet sales dept. They're usually on salary and not commission and you can deal from a distance and not on their "home field." You're geting close to the end of the calendar year and that might be the incentive for a dealer to try to actually sell you a vehicle and minimize the haggling. Once they give you their price, ask what the invoice price is (and ask to be emailed an actual copy of the invoice from Ford). If they're asking more, make a counter offer of invoice price plus all current incentives and maybe throw in some free oil changes etc. Also, ask what their doc fees are. If they're anything over $100, it's just fee money for them, so try to negotiate the fees too. Your advantage dealing on line is the bargaining advantage is yours, not theirs. If you have a trade in, that has to be an entirely separate transaction (usually at the dealership) once you've arrived at the selling price. Don't let them give you a good deal on the truck and make it up by undervaluing your trade.

Don't deal off MSRP, deal off invoice. Lots of threads discuss this. Find invoice value at Edmunds or ask dealer for it. Incentives are on the Ford site and are geographical and model based - XLT has highest incentives.

Several dealerships I visited are selling for Invoice plus rebates. They can do this because most have a $699 dealer fee they add on. So with $5500 in rebates, expect about $9500 off sticker, plus tax tag title dealer fee.

What is this elusive invoice. So far I have never seen one I can believe. MSRP is the only number that is always the same. Start at 30% off MSRP. 25% off MSRP is still quite good. 20% off MSRP is not quite so good. Anything under 20% off MSRP is not good at all.

Correct. Or even less.... depends on how you want to deal. Local guy to me grabbed his 58K sticker FX4 for $39000 plus taxes.... or just over $41000 out the door very recently.
Our loaded 2014 FX4 wasn't quite as good....... sticker was $61,200 and change..... paid $43 something plus taxes and fees or $46000 out the door back in July.
I did the same with a 2013 FX4..... 61K sticker and $46K out the door or $43,500 before tax.
My XLT was a $47,516 list, I paid $29,950 plus tax or $32K even out the door. These trucks are cheap lol.
Invoice is usually around 5 grand less than MSRP depending on the trim and price.
The guys state side don't usually get as big of a discount but have a lower sticker price to begin with.
