Hey, rcaddell, when you said "negative", I was hoping the original thread starter was talking, obviously not. I have spent a life time learning from other mechanics, technicians, electricians and I love it. Am going to have to put your name into the memory bank, can you tell me where I placed it? On a serious note, never even considered loosing battery power and the system defaulting to the original code. Thank you buddy, you are one up on me. (The list is long).

Incorrect... I have disconnect my battery several times, even had the dealer replace it under warranty not too long ago. The code I programmed into mine is still there and I have never had to reprogram it, NOT that I am in anyway recommending someone cut a wire to prevent the factory code from working...

2001 f150 sprcrew keyless entry code changing
I need to chagne the original factory code.
I removed the module that has the keyless entry code written on the outside of it(located under the drivers side dash). I opened it up and I don't see any resistors that look to determine the code.
Has anybody ever changed the original factory code on a 2001 150?
