Hey you guys!!! Looking for some projector heads for my 2014 F150 XLT. Only thing I know about them is that KMac hates Recon and said they are crap! Anyone have anything bad to say about Spyder? Also what about Retrofits, who sells them? I would go buy them from the Ford place but my gosh they are high.

bilinvic retrofits f150 headlights and the retrofitsource sells a lot of stuff if you are a diy guy. you can also buy oem hids fully assembled for $1000 or so, you just need the adapter harness that rfs sells

Because it takes a lot of time to modify. I did retorfits on my 2001 Dodge Neon, and to do it right and look good takes time. Especally if you are asking someone else to do it for you. If you are handy with tools and have the time, i would say do it yourself.
1. I had to buy a seperate set of lights so I can continue to work and drive my car.
2. Baked the lights to loose the adhesive to seperate teh lense from the housing.
3. I went the easier route and picked up the Missimottio (spelling is wrong) projectors that mount where the halogen bulb fits. I looks good and does its purpose being Bi-Xenon style. Others would modify with E36 BMW lights ect... More cutting and adjusting and time.
4. Adjust with lens off so the cut-off lines are level.
5. Seal the lens to the housing and reinstall.

It took me part time working on it over 2 weeks to disassemble / adjust / reassemble and then troubleshoot when the HID wouldn't start up.

If you go with a custom paint and lighting you can add upto 300-400 bucks extra for a better looking projector.

This has been my experience with retorfits. On a Dodge Neon the retrofits would run between 600 and 1200 (depending on the projector being used)

A lot of retrofits are using much more superior projectors compared to the cheap ebay lights or mass produced after market headlights assembled in China or somewhere else.

Not to mention retrofits get you the best lighting. Bar none. They are reliable, bright, and look damn good. I ended up sending my projectors to Sdaltrp to retrofit a new set as I screwed up my driver side. Retrofitting is an absolute pain in the *** to do, and I HIGHLY suggest you let someone else do it unless you are VERY confident. It is not an easy job to get the lens off, and is even easier to screw up you set of headlights.

I've been pondering upgrading my 2013's halogen housings to the HID Projectors, OEM......

I just went to look at the Blinivic or whatever, and they're retarded.....
Spending that kind of $$$ on a retrofit just for light is insane.

I'd stick to the OEM Projectors personally.
I don't see any reputable unbiased 3rd party comparison done to justify the expense.
