Default HELP! need an engine

I have an 04 5.4 with 8th vin #5. I am looking for a COMPLETE new drop in engine. Can anyone point me in the right direction for one? Any help is greatly appreciated, I have tried looking for the discontinued Ford part # and have had no luck.
Mods- If you need to move this somewhere else, please do.
Thanks guys

There are any number of places who will sell you a long block assembly. A complete engine, however, might be a problem.

salvage yards will have complete engines, but you'll never know what the PO did to them before you. Postal is right in that a new long block would be the way to go. Then you just transfer all of your stuff over to the new block.

Call Partsland USA in the Bronx. Its an LKQ affiliate. Ive had pretty good luck with some of the bigger name auto recycler affiliates. If you can find one with decent mileage, go ahead and put in new plugs while the motor is out of the truck, that way if you need to pull the heads, its not as big of a deal.

1333 Randall Ave
Bronx, NY
(718) 542-0515

Also, here is the listing for Hunts Point Auto Recycler:
1480 Sheridan Expy
Bronx, NY
(718) 589-4444

Ok, I know there are probably going to be about eleventeen posts telling me that I'm an asshat for recommending a recycled motor. Fine, whatevs. But, you need a motor and 4,500 for one is a bit on the steep side. Yes, I know its a caveat empetor "thing" yes, I know that you dont have previous knowledge of how it was treated.....judging by the way some of the dudes on this forum treat their truck, maybe that warning should be heeded in their direction.

Good luck....im just trying to save you a few bucks. If you can score one for a decent price with cushy miles, go for it.
