Trying to price 1978 F150 4x4 460 newly rebuilt
I have a 1978 F150 4x4 Lariat with a 460 +0.030 (1970 Mark VIII). I had the motor rebuilt with many high performance parts. There is probably less than 1000 miles on the rebuild. Runs very strong. The body is in great shape for the age as this truck has always been in the south. Regretfully I need to sell this truck. I don't have the space, knowledge base or the time to restore this truck any further. I am posting to request assistance with putting a sales price on the truck. I honestly don't have any idea how much to ask. Any help you could provide would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well a start would be going to ebay and seeing what similar trucks are selling for but that wouldn't get you as much for sale exposure as posting your question here.
My guess would be 5-6500

I realize it is a tough question. I probably have $6K to $6.5K in it. My question was posed to F150 enthusiasts as I figured this group would have a good sense for the market on a truck like this with a 70' 460.
I have searched internet some and found quite a bit of variation. Not too many trucks with this motor to compare it to.
I appreciate your reply.

I watched a 1976 F250 2WD 460 powered extended cab sell on eBay for a sad $5111...The truck had 78k miles and was a rust free, one family truck that did not need restored. It really looked nice inside and out. If it hadn't been on the other side of the country I would have bought it.

I would say probably around 5 grand. The rebuilt motor sounds nice and definitely helps a bit, but a truck is only as strong as its weakest link. The rest of the truck is still almost 40 years old. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful truck, but don't get the impression that just because you have a rebuilt motor that you'll get top dollar.
