Help!! '01 F150 idles great, sputters and dies when put in gear
Has anyone heard of this problem? Our mechanic said he isnt sure why this is happening. Mechanic has seen 2 other F150's with same problem. One was sent to the Ford dealership and they said it was something in the transmission, but when the transmission mechanic looked.. he said there wasnt anything wrong with the transmission.

I will call the mechanic tomorrow and ask him to check the fuel filter, but I remember changing the air filter and fuel filter 3-4months ago (right before our baby was due). Can one go out that fast?

I'm having similar problems. truck won't start without starting fluid, engine light is on, no accelaration, and transmission wants to start in second gear, overdrive won't work. changed fuel filter two months ago. anhy suggestions?
