Default Here are Two Really sweet links for you OBDII people

This link takes you to an outfit that has an adapter which plugs into your OBD port on your truck and adapt the port to a USB plug. This means if you have a laptop all you have to do is get the software and you laptop becomes a scanner. The board is available in kit form if you want to save money and assemble it yourself, The kit $45 dollars plus $6 bucks shipping and handling

This link is to a device which mounts on your dash board and plugs into your OBD port, with it you have real time gas mileage, average gas mileage, tach, speedometer, gauges, etc, it reads diagnostic codes and you can clear them.

I've been wanting to get a Scangauge to help me watch my mileage and adjust my driving habits

I have the scangauge II in my truck and really like it. I'm on my first tank using it and will be refilling in the next day or so. I think it has caused me to adjust my driving habits by watching the mpg's go up and down in real time, but I'll know for sure if that change in driving style has gained me any mpg's when I refill.

I sure wish I could get something like this for my 95 but it is ODB1 truck and I don't think it has the needed sensors anyway.

Actually it seems to have such sensors. According to this links all you need is a speed sensor and an injector.

Links for devices (in russian, sorry... )are here:
1st device - for now i've found only wiring diagram with pics
http://multi-set.ru/index.php?option...id=18&Itemid=1

2-nd device looks like this
http://www.m-electronics.ru/products/se50/

According to the manuals they can provide you following data:
actual MPG (in L/100km format)
trip mileage (in km)
actual speed (km/h)
fuel left
voltage
0-60 mph time

If interested i'll try to find out more data

I have a 04 f 150 4x4 supercrew lariat. developed a hard misfire. replaced all the plugs.(.wow what a joke on design) hard miss still present, suspected a coil, chk eng light on. hooked up a scanner( cheap one from autozone) and there is nothing. scanner doesn't even power up.... if anybody has had this problem and has a clubhouse tip for me I would be MUCH appreciative.

Does your cig. lighter work? If not, check for a blown fuse. The fuse that powers the cig. lighter also powers the OBDII port.
