I need to replace the heater core in my 97 f150 but need to know how to take the passenger side airbag out first!

I would get another opinion besides mine but I was told by two mechanics that the battery has to be disconnected before unplugging the harness and before plugging it back in. Pop the dash cover on top of the dash above the air bag and there is the wiring harness and three screws hold in the airbag.
