Default Heat is not as hot

I have a 97 F150 Lariat. The heater doesn't get that hot... It is more luke warm. I don't know if there is a valve or something that is not opening all of the way, if so where would such valve be located. I can hear the electrical "flap" opening when I turn the selector from hot to cold so I am pretty sure that is working. I do not have any heater core leak. Any information would be appreciated it is starting to get cold....
