Get your CarFax...FREE
#1
No one around here on this forum offers it, so since I have access to free CarFax reports, I will!
All you have to do is PM me your VIN # AND email address. Make sure you send BOTH or you won't be getting a CarFax. If my inbox gets full, be patient and I'll empty it soon afterwards.
Then you should be receiving your CarFax from me shortly! I may be more busy at certain times than others, but hey, it's free.
Simple enough, and hopefully this helps out some people!

Be careful with that, I did the same thing years ago on another forum and they threatened to sue me because I must be running reports for other people due to the amount of reports.

Are all carfax's the same?
Reason I ask is when I bought my truck from the dealer the Carfax had "reportable damage". I knew the right side was hit b/c when I checked over the truck I could see the difference in paint from right to left side and also some overspray on a corner of one of the windows.
Does "reportable damage" come back as just that or is there more info I could be getting on exactly what happened i.e- got t-boned, he slid in a ditch, wiped out on snow and hit a pole, etc.
The truck having a "bad" carfax didnt worry me. I knew what to look for. After 2.5 years of owning the truck there is 0 problems. Also got the truck $3k below value.
Funny thing, tonight walking out of the store under the lights I could actually see the difference in paint from the back box and back door compared to the front door and fender. The box and rear door are a brighter white. Very difficult to tell during daylight hours.

Now if someone gets into an accident and decides to not go through the insurance company, CarFax may not be aware of it. This rarely happens, but is a possibility.
All CarFax reports SHOULD be the same regardless of where you go to get it. Haven't heard of anyone trying to change a CarFax report before.

If CarFax has information about the accident, it may report where on the vehicle it happened. (ie. rear, front, side) Also it may tell you if there was any structural damage or if the airbag was deployed.
