I have a 2006 STX reg cab with a 4.6L most of my driving is interstate and I get 17. Before I had a 2000 Lariet super cab also with a 4.6L and it got 17. My brother-in-law has a 2001 Lariet super cab 4X4 with a 5.4L and claims to get 17 as well. Seems to be a pattern.

By putting lift kits you raise the truck up and increase the drag coeffiecent. This causes you to use more engine power to maintain a given speed, and this requires
more fuel.

2001 5.4 w/33" tires and lift kit. I only got 13 last fill, mostly in town driving.

Default Well.....

I haven't got mine yet.... But the closer I can get to 18mpg, the happier I will be.

On the plus side, I will drive 98% freeway miles, at a very slow 60mph (already 5mph over the towing speed limit)

And, I will be running a Flowmaster exhaust, + CAI, which theoretically can improve your mileage by 1 or 2 mpg's.

Then, after the truck is broken in, and well tested, I plan to get a fuel economy tuner, which could add 1 to 3 mpg's as well.....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
But then (like a dum-bass) I'm putting a 1 1/2" to 2" level on it, and going with 33" tires.... So hopefully, this won't kill every bit of savings I've managed to get with all of the above.......
And the big one > I will always be towing a boat, albeit, a very light one... Only about 1000 lbs for boat motor and trailer.
Again, the closer I can get to 18mpg, the happier I will be.
But what the heck, my old, worn out, 4 cyl. Toyota Tacoma was only getting about 18mpg itself ! (and Lord knows it wasn't half the truck my brand spankin new F150 will be :-) Whooo Hooo ! :-)
Peace,
Fish
