Just curious, whats the average gas mileage for a 5spd 4X4 straight 6 (fuel injected) truck? Sorry if its been covered, I'm new and would like to know, I'm only looking at the straight 6 trucks because the 302 only gets like what? 10mpg? Thanks!
i had 2 of these engines. one in a 87 150,4x2 and a 4 speed stick. the other in a 5 speed 4x4 and an 89. the 89 had a 3.55 axle, unsure about the 87. gas mileage around 15-17 on the highway. not great and underpowered. great torque down low for crawling though.

Thats alright, I like to go trail riding and sometimes tow cars so HP doesn't matter so much as what the torque does.
Thats one reason I want a 300-6 because I know if I the 302 I'll be putting on performance exhaust and headers and then I'll always want to hear it roar and be getting bad gas mileage lol.
I drive a 95 f150 6 straight 5 speed. I cant get milage better than 13mpg what can i do to improbe it . I dont want to have to sale my truck i just got it a month ago .
