full throttle power
I know that our F150s (2004-2008) are supposed to build most of its power at around 5,000 RPMs, but It seems like after the rpms get up above 3500 on my truck that the power really drops off. It seams like I am getting the most pickup out of it at about 3/4 throttle between 3K and 4K RPMs as opposed to full throttle until it shifts. Is there something wrong here or is this standard with our trucks? It seems like my truck doesnt like being full throttle at all....Im kinda stumped as to why this is....any thoughts?

mine had a big problem with power on the freeway at high rpm it was just a dog. I found out that on the 2006 there is a computer update that gives more power with a new fuel and timing map. I can try to find out the techinacal bulitan # from Ford.

so in a 2007 4.2 L where does it redline or does it redline at all??? like Buck said most power feels like its coming around 3500 and if you go any further it just sounds like the engine is overreving. (manual tran.)
