Default Fuel Door

I have a fuel door on my 2004 F150 that will not close tightly. It was frozen closed. I used a hair dryer to get it opened, that worked now it will not close all the way and I have checked the hinge and the pocket where the ice was and everything is clear the door will not shut tightly. Is there a spring inside the hinge box that my be broken or out of position??

Is it possible you have warped the fuel door slightly with the heat from the hair dryer?

No I think there is some type of spring that was broken by the ice build up. If I hold the door there it sits just fine it just doesn't snap back in place like it did prior. It stays open about an inch or so. I see there is a spring on the bottom of the box where the hinge it located but I am wondering if there is something inside that box that needs replacing or to be put back in place.
