A friend of mine bought a 2013 Sierra, within the first week, the drivers rear door hinge broke, and everytime you opened it you thought it was gonna fall off and you would always go and catch it, the memory seat stopped working and the lights behind the cluster stopped working. Needless to say they weren't impressed with it. Dealer gave them a hard time about getting it fixed to. I guess spending 50k on a truck doesn't get you alot from GM

Every manufacturer can build a bad one and I can assure you that none of them, including ford, care a thing about you or me

Every maker has horror stories. Some of the stuff I read on this forum makes me cringe. But the deaths from GM's airbag issue really take the cake. I was never opposed to the idea of owning a Silverado, but I don't like the new one. Its gotten to the point now where I can't support them at all.

Both of these are MY 2013.

that looks so much better than the new front end. IDK why they didnt expand on that theme instead of throwing it out and going back to the mid 90's.

I drove a 1995 GMC Sierra for work for 10 years......wasn't terrible.
Our fleet of them had alot of issues though when they got near 100K and beyond.

They switched out to Ford contracts in 2008 and beyond.
Yessir. And I'm joking on the appearance of the 14... strangely similar

Default I have to comment on this discussion!

I have read this discussion, and need to add my two cents. I have owned chevys, both trucks and cars for forty years. My first gm a K5 blazer 4x4 in 1982 was a great truck, but terrible engine, the 305 cam and lifters went, and I replaced it with a 350, put over 200 thousand miles on it. The Tahoe I had in 96, was expensive piece of junk, blew 4 transmissions. I finally got a Silverado, in 2000. Good truck, but the plastic sucked, weird things would blow and break like the power steering cooler, but what made me dump it, was the evap system failed, it needed new lines, and gas tank. Check engine light in NY is automatic failure in inspection. I had a ford bronco in the eighty's loved that truck, 351, 4x4. After driving all the trucks, went with f 150. Solid well made, truck. The ram felt cheap, and after owning a dodge Durango for 15 years, seen how many things fail on it, long term ram is rough. Drove the new chevy 1500, steering wheel off center, lacked room, slow, all of them had tall gearing, slow off line. Drive them all make, and weigh what is the most important features you want to have!

Did your gas tank collapse? Happened tow two of my dad's farm trucks. That and crappy radiator end caps that cracked. Real common from 2000-2002 at least.
