I'm not one to argue opinions, but I have to disagree with "Tow the same and ride the same". A close friend of mine has a 19.5' Key West w/console (which is a surprisingly heavy boat) and we alternate towing on fishing trips. He has a 2011 GMC 4x4 Crew 5.3 (totally stock) and he cannot maintain overdrive at 70mph to save his life. When I hook up to his boat with my 2012 FX4 EB Screw on 33" Toyo MTs, I accelerate to pass ppl @ 70+ mph staying in overdrive along with most overpasses. Not to mention his 8-9 mpg vs my 12-13 mpg. As for the ride, still no comparison. He is already looking into trading in the GMC!

coley909 That is so true. I love other trucks too. I had a Chevy Avalanche before my F150, and I absolutly love it. I had a Dodge Ram before the Avalanche. Now I hav my F150 and I am hooked.

My father had a Pontiac Vibe which granted is really mostly a Toyota (a lot of the parts even had Toyota stamped on them like brake pads.). GM hardcoded the DIGITAL odometer to stop at 299999 km, even though there was absolutely nothing wrong with it or anything else on the car. GM wanted an exorbitant amount of money for the parts, labour, and it escalated past regional directors. They wouldn't budge.

Dad was livid about this, especially considering the potential resale value loss of having the replacement odometer installed with the fugly sticker which people always assume has been tampered with. This was right at the time when GM was about to declare bankruptcy...

GM's final nail in their coffin: "Well sir, you should be happy that it lasted this long."

I love my truck and all but some of you guys are insane with this stuff.
They are just vehicles. As passionate as some of you guys get over damn trucks it's a wonder how you have energy left for anything else in life.
I don't care what anyone else drives and I don't care what anyone thinks about what I drive. It means nothing to me. It's a car.

I dont know, the new Corvette is pretty sick! But yeah, im not ditching my F150 for a long time!

As for MPG, I am sure the technology to have 30MPG trucks exist but in order to keep selling trucks they will only bring out incremental improvements. Sigh...

Yeah, that makes tons of sense.
In order to keep selling trucks 'they', will only bring out incremental improvements?
Who is 'they'?
Is there some NWO of auto manufacturers? Maybe they're all actually the same entity?
Some big conspiracy working in conjunction with big oil?
If one of these automakers could produce a 5-6k full size truck that could get 30mpg, with a adequate motor that was suited for an actual truck, it would be on the market with the others scrambling to match it.

I'm all for a good conspiracy theory, but I don't think this one holds much weight.

I've always been a blue oval guy, but I wouldn't mind having a Corvette ZR1 and a Caddy CTS V. Other than that Government Motor can keep their garbage that WE the tax payers pay for.

I like all trucks, but driving F150 now. I'll test drive them all next time I buy.

stx03 Ha ha...That is funny. I love my truck and I am passionate about my truck. And yes I still have energy to work, raise my 2 little ones, and go to school to get my Masters degree. I don't care what others drive because I'm not paying for it. That is why there is oodles of vehicles to choose from because people will buy them. :-)
