I have always loved it's looks.

The 928 is the only Porsche that interests me. It is the first car that was completely Porsche designed. The rest are simply glorified VWs.

Because during the 2nd gen they built a prototype called the 'Mako Shark'. It was painted like a shark and was very popular and led to the production of the C3. Some guys call their C2's sharks but the moniker applies to C3's.

I had a c5, c6 and a c3. Loved all 3.

The c5 had 405 at the rear wheels but was very well balanced (tuned suspension, etc)

The c6 had 500 at the rear wheels but wasn't as refined. It still needed some suspension tweaking.

The C3 had 1000 at the rear wheels and was a handful too keep in one lane. At 3000lbs with me in it, there wasn't much out there that could keep up with it. It had the full suspension, modern brakes, etc so it handled great but was still WAY over powered.

I've also had 7 mustangs to include two Cobras.

All vette overs are not the same.

Or, men with post-menopausal wives. I will say however, if your going to drive a 'vette, you must have a leather jacket, driving gloves and a bowtie baseball hat. Oh, and 23 year old college girl to keep the right seat warm and to use as a man-gravy depository. You young guys can make as much fun of that as you like- maybe someday you'll be able to afford the same kinda "toys".

Cant say I agree with the glorified vw statement. Until youve driven a true Porsche (rear engine) you wont ever understand the essence of Porsche. The 928 was definitely an interesting ride, but for the money I could get a 986 boxster which is a much better track car. JMO.

Porsche with an auto? What is that?
