For individuals that invest, this is for you as there is money to be made trading (F) on the up and down side. There is even a good opportunity in options here. Sorry, I don't know if this helped or confused more. For the average person this thread means little to nothing to you.
Buying the dip is smart. I'm in long with ford. The stocks are cheap and the dividends are pretty good. I doubt ford is going anywhere in the future, and like others have said, they are releasing some new vehicles/updates in the future. If minimum wage increases, this could bring some people into the market.

Right now the question is: where do you put your money? AMZN? FB? REITs? Those aren't bad choices and I have some positions there as well but I also prefer the less sexier options such as JNJ and F.

How would a minimum wage increase help boost Ford F-150 sales (what this thread is about)? The prices that Ford gets for their new trucks is huge for someone that's making minimum wage. If they can swing that, then I'm doing something wrong, as I make much more then minimum wage

I'm not necessarily for a wage increase mind you; I know what it will do to many small businesses and I know that some will effectively receive a pay cut due to their wages not increasing as much as prices due to the minimum wage increase. That said, as most ford employees aren't on minimum wage, it shouldn't increase their costs much. Theoretically raising the minimum wage acts like government spending or less taxes. Those that make more, buy more, leading to more production, etc etc.

Another thing, is that sales may be less than anticipated for this quarter due to the announcement of the 2017 models. People may be waiting for those models to purchase. I know some of us are.

I'm just basically thinking out loud here. Either way, we will see what happens.
