Way cool! Any way to mod that onto an earlier version of the truck? Is it just a hinge issue or more involved?

If you're talking about 8ft bed crewcabs, no. There is no half ton that you can get that in period.

I believe nissan also has the same configuration in their king cab, you can choose to delete the back seat from the factory, which would be the ideal work Truck cab IMO. Too bad Nissan sucks lol

Fords half ton crew cab 6.5' is a longer wheel base than a Dodge HD crew cab 6.5' by 8 inches!!

That's just it! Scab's are meant to haul people temp or as a last minute thing. Not to cruise the Interstate.
Not a matter of fitting... matter of functionality. Park the 90 degree door cab next to another vehicle and try to load it and you will get it.

I rarely have anyone in my back seat and can almost always park where there's not a vehicle by my truck if I do but I do see the point of the 180 degree opening. I wasn't quite getting it earlier this week. Bad case of the Monday's

I love my 2013 SCAB as is. The 180 door could be useful at rare times though!
I've never looked at a truck with a large front door and a smaller back b pillar door so it is hard to say if I'd like it or not. I can say I like the SCAB as is though!


I have taken to letting people in and out of my PU before putting it into the rare tight space I am forced to use though. Like others, I park way out and avoid other vehicles.

I didn't read through ALL the posts on this thread, so if someone said this already, I apologize: I never have owned a SCab, and never will. The reason is that I refuse to own a vehicle that requires me to open MY door so that the guy behind me (if there was one) can open HIS door. I would rather have a SCrew even if I didn't need the room, just to avoid that.

I drove a Mustang a long time ago, and even though I loved it, I hated having to open my door to allow someone to get in the back seat. I realize it's not the same thing, as there is only one door per side on a sports coupe, but the point remains the same.

I also respect that a lot of you SCab owner don't put people in the back seat, and thus this is never (or at least rarely) an issue. But I guess I'm just too stubborn, and don't EVER want to have to deal with that situation.

So in summary, if they could make a SCab size cab but have the doors operate independently - either in suicide fashion or as a "double cab" setup - I'd be fine with it. I just can't stand the way the suicide doors work NOW.

Thats the problem, 4 doors is a bigger cab, no way around it. I prefer the smaller cab, with the ability to haul 5 people IF I need to. When I had small kids, I had a crew cab, no more kids needing me to drive them around, meant a truck just for me. I thought long and hard between SCAB and Regular Cab. If Ford didn't have a SCAB, I'd be driving a Regular Cab.
