Is Ford going to adopt a "Double Cab" and get rid of the suicide doors?

I vote for the suicide doors. But if we are looking for new configurations, I wish they offered an in between model. Keep the 6.5' bed, give up a few inches of rear leg room and shrink the wheelbase and overall length more than the leg room given up. I love my 6.5' screw but it has the turning radius of a battleship.

i voted yes because i'd love to see it happen. honestly if i didnt have a kid on the way i'd prob be more vocal abou tthis. but with the kid on the way i'm sure i'll love my supercrew for added convenience.

So I looked around and found a photoshopped image of what I'd like to see. All things in mind, keeping the same leg room as in the current Scab and the 6.5 foot bed. Let the door open almost 90 degrees. I think this would be great.

I LOVE my SCAB and esp. the suicide doors! I have driven them on and off my entire life. I will NEVER drive a SCREW(soccer-mobile). when you own one, and are around friends, they naturally assume you're going to drive when you have a crew cab! My only complaint is: Why can't you order a platinum/limited/king ranch SCAB? I'm stuck buying lowly lariats.... Admittedly, not many people want what I do, but it sure would be nice if Ford would think of us one-off weirdos once in a while. If I could fantasize a little: I would KILL for an AWD, S/C Coyote, SCAB, Lightning. I would be first in line to lay my money down.......

I suppose that it's just nostalgia to a certain degree but I would miss my suicide doors. Having the extra b-pillar hinders rear seat access, as has been stated, and is just one more area to collect dirt and rust. The crew cab is what you want if hauling people in comfort is a priority. The purpose of the extended cab has always been simply to expand the interior space (storage locker) and haul people when you have to.

Again, you need to go look at a NEW F-150, where the suicide doors FOLD BACK.
