Funny thing - I looked when I got out of work and saw that I actually put my registration sticker over half of the SoundScreen label...call me Mr. Observant...so turns out I do have it Thanks to the forum, or I never would have known about it!

Now I'm starting to wonder if this windshield is the reason I have to be so close to the garage in order to open the door. I used to be able to open it from the street so it would be fully open by the time I it drove up to it. Now i have to be half way up my driveway.

There is no material in the ws that would cause interference, most likely a radar detector, cell phone charger or some other electrical device is causing RFI.

Example: When ever I forget to unplug the dash cam my key fob won't unlock or remote start my truck unless I'm fairly close. When it's off it works at normal ranges.

Nope, none of that. Nothing has changed from my last vehicle, unless the truck has something going on with it. I'm considering doing a Homelink install if that fixes it.

Have you checked the battery in your opener?

No. It worked great with my Jeep the day I traded it , then as soon as I pulled up with the truck, I had to practically pull up in front of the door to get it to open.

I'd still check the battery.

Well, had the windshield replaced yesterday! All came out very well. Used the Ford factory glass with soundscreen. I did ask the installer about it. Basically I asked what is the sound screen.

He told me he had not read up on it but was told it had a layer of something in the glass. I think he said vinyl. It affects how the glass reacts to a break and has the added benefit of noise deadening. He also told me it would reflect the stereo sound back to the driver for a better sound.

Just thought I'd share! LOL!
