Default F150 service manual

Just curious if anyone had purchased this and if so how helpful if has been.
Looking at picking one up but price seems a bit steep.

Maybe this will help. Save it on your phone. It's free.

I have it on my phone just in case the book goes MIA.

Service manual is not the owner's manual. Costs real money.

There is a thread about a company that subscribes to Ford, downloads YOUR manual, and sells it to you. I think this is the company, but do your own research: https://www.factory-manuals.com/expa...anual-391.html

Did you even look at the link in Post #3 above?

My 2016 Manual cost $70.00 for the 10,343 page manual in PDF format.

A no-brainer. Ordering is discussed in the 2015-16 forum.

those are pirated, i'm surprised the site even allows linking to them. You might as well just use a torrent site and download a copy for free lol

Or for $20, you can get an account with Ford and download the manual yourself. Instead of a PDF, you'll have the entire FSM in HTML format, with working links.

You'll need an account here: https://www.motorcraftservice.com with a $20 subscription for 3 days. When you're done downloading the manual, you can then print all of the electrical connectors to PDF, but you'll have to do it manually.

They're not pirated. What factory-manuals does is creates a Motorcraft account in your name, enters your VIN, and prints the manual to PDF. You then download the manual and you also have access to your account with an active subscription. Ford does get paid. He doesn't have a license to distribute those materials, but that isn't what is colloquially known as piracy.

That said, factory-manuals is a liar. He claims that he has workers that manually print the manual to PDF. It's 10,000+ pages. He doesn't have workers that do it, he has a script.

He claims that no one needs the electrical pinouts of the connectors, so you don't get that if you get the FSM from him. The pinouts are a few dozen pages at most, and easily printed manually. If he had workers doing 10,000 pages of the FSM, whats a few dozen more? Oh yeah, he has a script that prints it. Further, not a week goes by where someone doesn't ask for a pinout... cause people want the pinouts and are smart enough to use them.

He claims that the FSM has your VIN embedded in it. No, it doesn't. I've downloaded multiple FSMs using different VINs, they never contain the VIN. The technician TEST procedures have the VIN in them, but not the FSM. And you don't get the test procedures if you pay him to run his script for you.

He says you can remove the VIN and distribute it if you want do, but then goes on to warn you that it is aggrivated something or other and a huge fine. He just wants to scare you into not sharing the PDF so that someone else might pay him for it.

So I said **** it, I'll figure out how to download the thing myself. And I did. And I got the links to work, unlike his PDF. And its under 1/3 of the cost of what he wants.
